There are ten main cloud genera which has its own morphology and characteristics. On March 23, 2017, the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) updated the book "International Cloud Atlas" with the theme of "Viewing Clouds and Knowing the Sky". Its classification principle is: cloud genus + category + A* variant structure + B* sub type cloud (affiliated cloud). In addition, the "International Cloud Atlas" revision also adds special clouds.
