Strong convection such as cumulonimbus usually exists a strong updraft. Sometimes there is a vortex associated with this updraft. Its rotation causes the pressure to drop and form a tube-like cloud called a tubular cloud. If the center of the vortex expands downward and reach the ground, it is called waterspouts and tornadoes.
